Documentary Description:

Professor Iain Stewart explores the influence of water, examining 6,000-year-old rock engravings that suggests the Sahara desert was once a much more hospitable place. He also traces the cycle of fresh water, discovering how an aberration in the pattern caused a severe drought in the Middle East during the last ice age. Finally, he demonstrates how the need for a reliable source of water has inspired some of the key advances in human civilisation
